Equipment Information
Parents should be aware that Neuqua Valley provides all of the player's personal equipment for their use except for cleats, socks, girdle, and towel. In the past the district has provided a towel service for PE and athletics, but in current economic times that service has been discontinued. Relative to the player's girdles (article of clothing to hold hip and tail pads, sometimes thigh pads) it is recommended that they purchase their own. Girdles integrated with hip, tail, and thigh pads is an appealing option.

"The Boys of Fall"
Kenny Chesney's new video "The Boys of Fall" features high school footage from three games last fall. Schools from Texas and Tennessee were highlighted in two of the games; but, the third game featured the Neuqua Valley vs Naperville Central game from 2009. The visit to Naperville last fall by Chesney's video producers, Tackle Box Films, spawned another idea... produce a football documentary. The soon to be released documentary will include more footage from that same game last fall.

Season of Life
Building Men and Women for Others is former Baltimore Colts star defensive lineman Joe Ehrmann's calling. This HBO Sports special documents the former Colts' philosophy on building young men to become men of character. In addition, the book Season of Life by Jeffery Marx tells of Joe's passion for building men through football.
Why do we share this here? Because Neuqua Football shares Joe's philosophy of football being a great vehicle to help shape young men for the future. It's about life...

ISU Team Camp 2010
The Varsity team will be attending the Brock Spack Football Team Camp on the campus of Illinois State University June 30 - July 2, 2010. The camp is designed for players to experience fundamentals taught by the ISU coaching staff, drills versus players from other schools, and teamwork relative to our own O/D packages. This camp time has become part of the tradition of Neuqua Football and has served to increase the team unity for the upcoming season. While this camp is strongly encouraged by the Neuqua staff due to its tremendous benefits, it certainly is not mandatory for a player to attend. The cost to attend the camp is $225 ($195 ISU/$30 charter bus) per player. A brochure for the camp will be available soon detailing how to register.
