2011 TS5K >> May 15th

Join the Neuqua Valley Physical Education Department in celebrating the life of Tom Schlegel. One of Neuqua Valley’s most inspiring staff members, Tom Schlegel passed away on October 13th, 2006, after fighting a year long battle of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.  As a former physical education teacher and assistant football coach, he has impacted the lives of many over the years. Defined by his faith, love, and character, Schlegel was a humble man always putting others before himself and never taking recognition for anything. A loving husband, dedicated father, approachable teacher, motivating coach, and loyal friend, Schlegel simply lived life “the way everyone should.”

The family and friends of Tom Schlegel would like to ask you to join us for the 5th annual Tom Schlegel Memorial 5K road race on May 15, 2011. This race benefits the Tom Schlegel Children’s Trust, the Tom Schlegel Scholarship fund, and the Neuqua Valley Physical Education Department.

Equipment Information

Parents should be aware that Neuqua Valley provides all of the player's personal equipment for their use except for cleats, socks, girdle, and towel. In the past the district has provided a towel service for PE and athletics, but in current economic times that service has been discontinued. Relative to the player's girdles (article of clothing to hold hip and tail pads, sometimes thigh pads) it is recommended that they purchase their own. Girdles integrated with hip, tail, and thigh pads is an appealing option.
